January 28th, 2009. I don't know why I was feeling browns today. They are not really brown, more like dark yellow. They look green from some angles. Lately I have been very interested in how yellow, blue and green are related. These two paintings (341 and 342) both use a combination of dark yellows and depending on the light appear either brown or green, it also depends on what colors are next to it - some colors can be 'pulled' by a nearby color. Number 340 was done in variations of yellow mixed with green, yet the line (which is almost entirely green) appear blue when you get close to the painting (it looks almost black from a distance).
