Title: Number 381
Size: 18x24 (inches)
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Second painting of 2010. A further exploration of green and yellow. Yellow can be a difficult color to work with. It is very transparent and it is difficult to get even tones for yellows that are not mixed with white. These yellows are interesting because of the amount of green that the different colors pick up depending on their surrounding tones. This one can look very different depending on the light is is viewed under. This photo was taken outside at midday after a rain. I think it looks more green with the overcast sky. Indoors it was much more yellow. Warmer. The green exterior color is like a new leaf under the spotlights in my studio. I was working on both 380 and 381 at the same time. I finished 380 first only because I started it first.
